How to Easily Cut a Bell Pepper

Knife skills are an incredibly important part of cooking. Not only will good knife skills improve the look of your dishes, but they will also allow you to cook dishes much more quickly. When simple things like cutting up a bell pepper take you around 30 seconds instead of several minutes, your possibilities for cooking a fast and fresh dinner really open up.

To cut up a bell pepper, start by setting the pepper upright on the cutting board. Then, slice straight down starting about half and inch away from the green stem.

Continue slicing like this all the way around the pepper. The idea is to cut just outside of the seed cluster leaving both the seeds and the white membrane behind.

Once you’ve made it all the way around the pepper, you should be left with something similar to this:

At this point, the seed cluster can be thrown away and the pepper pieces can be cut into slices or cubes and used in any number of recipes.
