How to Feed Two People for $60 a Week

This past year we have gotten married, moved halfway around the world, and my husband started grad school in a foreign country where the exchange rate does not favor the US. We are definitely on a budget.

That being said, we are big time foodies and were not willing to sacrifice delicious, healthy (and sometimes unhealthy) meals to save money. I have found that with a little bit of planning, both of us are able to eat 7 breakfasts, 7 lunches, and 7 dinners for $60 or less a week.

In comparison, if you spent $4 on breakfast, $9 on lunch, and $14 on dinner each day, you’d be spending around $370 a week on food. That means that the difference in my husband and I eating out and eating planned meals at home saves us an average of $310 a week or around $16,120 a year! No matter how you look at it, the savings are huge. Who wouldn’t love an extra $16,000 a year in their bank account?

We eat like this every single week and have for several years now. I have upwards of a hundred original recipes that fit into this plan and that number is always increasing. Keep a lookout on this page for new meal plans and advice on how to Feed Two for $60 a Week.
